Interim August Hours.
Summer Interim Hours NetLibrary Ebooks. The Library has recently purchased the following packages of netLibrary ebooks: Leadership & Management, Electrical Engineering, Criminal Justice, Contemporary Issues, Environment, Home & Desktop Computing, Teacher's Resources Core.  South Texas Archives and the Renovation of the
Third Floor of the Library. Beginning in Summer 2008, the Library is experiencing a period of
renovation that may last some months. The South Texas
Archives, long housed in Baugh Hall, will move to the third floor of
the Jernigan Library. This will necessitate shifting of
stacks, construction of a suitable environment for archival
materials, and the moving of materials from Baugh Hall to the
Jernigan Library. During part of this process, selected areas of the
third floor (specifically the stack areas) may be closed to the
public; please ask for assistance from library personnel during
times when stack areas are closed to the public. In addition, the South Texas Archives will also be
closed for part of this transition period. The Library regrets
any inconvenience these changes necessitate.
The Technology Learning Center (TLC) is moving to the 2nd floor of the library to make space for the South Texas Archives. The TLC will merge with a new academic support unit, the Center for Teaching and Learning. THE TLC WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL THIS TRANSITION IS COMPLETED. Equipment loan requests are not currently being accepted by the TLC. When this service resumes, equipment loan transactions will take place at the Circulation Desk. Appropriate secure storage must be built and all equipment added to the library’s catalog be for equipment loans will resume. Existing circulation staff will handle equipment loan transactions. |

| Database News |
| The Library now subscribes to
Texas NewsStand. This database includes full text versions
of several Texas newspapers, including the Corpus Christi
Caller-Times, the San Antonio Express-News, and the Houston
Chronicle. The Music Index and RILM were recently converted from paper to electronic format. |
